Paintings built for the wall they'll actually hang on.
Textured, large-scale, original work from a Los Angeles studio — made to be lived with, not just looked at.
Every piece is built in heavy, physical layers — palette knife, drip, and occasionally gold leaf — so it reads as a single field of color from across a room and as pure texture up close.

A short film from the studio.
A few unscripted minutes with a painting in progress — layers, palette knife, and the parts of the process that never make it into a photo.

Ukrainian-born, Los Angeles-based, working in acrylic at scale.
Julia Mindar came to painting through photography, and a few years modeling and acting before that — texture and surface come first, image second. Most pieces take several sessions to build up the layering that gives them depth up close and a single strong read from across a room.
Work is sized for real rooms: feature walls, entryways, consoles, the space over a sofa that every other painting is too small for.
